We live in times where celebrity often over shadows pure artistic expression. The old guard whilst prolific in their own right remained aloof to such unnecessary attention. Lucian Freud, one such figure, sadly passed away yesterday. A painter I greatly admire, he clearly empathised with his subjects, the individual as a stand alone entity and the stories that naturally accompanied them.
